Requirements
- Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). macOS isn’t supported yet.
- SketchUp 2021 – 2026 (desktop).
- Any NVIDIA graphics card with 4 GB+ video memory and 8 GB system RAM — enough for all three engines and Smart vision. More video memory renders faster. Tested at about 15 seconds per render on an RTX 5060 laptop (8 GB).
- Disk space for the engine you install (Realize shows the size before downloading).
- Internet for activation and the one-time engine download.
Install
- Buy a licence on the pricing section. Your private order page opens after payment — download
realize_ai_render_v0.5.6.rbzthere. - In SketchUp:
Extensions › Extension Manager › Install Extension. - Choose the
.rbzfile and confirm. Restart SketchUp if asked. - Open
Extensions › Realize AI Render.
Activate your licence
Until a licence is active, Realize shows a lock screen with your Device ID — it looks like DEV-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. Each key is generated for one Device ID.
- Copy the Device ID from the lock screen.
- Paste it on your order page and click Get my key.
- Your key (it starts with
REAL-) appears straight away. Copy it. - Paste it on the lock screen and click Activate. It works immediately, even offline. When online, Realize refreshes a signed 48-hour lease for updates and licence status.
Bought the 2-PC licence? Paste each PC’s Device ID on your order page — you’ll get a key for each. New computer? Email support@sketchupsimplified.com with your old key and new Device ID for a replacement.
Set up an engine
Realize checks your graphics card first. Then pick an engine — Realistic, Classic or Light — and click Download & install. It downloads with a progress bar (you can pause and resume) and starts in the background on your own PC. Nothing to configure.
Optional: add Smart vision so Realize reads rooms and materials straight from your view.
Your first render
- Set up a SketchUp scene with the camera where you want the photo.
- Click Instant Best Render for a one-click result, or choose Space (auto-detected by default), Style and Light yourself.
- Pick 1×, 2× or 4× variations and click Render. Drag the before/after slider to compare.
- Not quite right? Type a change into Refine — for example “warmer timber floor, add linen curtains”.
Tip: Keep my design plus the faithfulness slider (Classic engine) stays closest to your model. Use Batch scenes to render every ticked scene in one go.
Troubleshooting
“Update required” screen
A newer version is required. Download the latest .rbz from your order page and install it over the old one — your licence carries over.
“Single-Device Lock” message
The key was made for a different Device ID. Check the key on your order page says For this PC’s Device ID, or email us your receipt and the correct Device ID.
Key not accepted
Copy the whole key, including REAL-. Spaces and lower-case letters are fine.
Engine won’t start
Close and reopen the Realize window, then use Start engine. Renders slow on a 4–6 GB card? Close other apps that use the GPU, or switch to Light — it’s the fastest engine.
